The Starling is an excellent guitar for beginners to learn on, and it comes at a price point that allows everyone to buy a high-quality Epiphone instrument. For longevity and superb tone, the back and sides are stacked mahogany, while the top is layered spruce. The Indian laurel fretboard has 20 medium jumbo frets that make it easier to push the strings down with less effort, while the 24.75" scale length results in somewhat reduced string tension and minimizes the distance the player's fingers must "reach" to construct chord patterns.
