When the call comes in, your skills are needed in the state or the nation. It's time to pack up your car and your flight cases, along with your amp, pedalboard, and outboard gear. Wrong! Tech 21's 12.5" Acoustic Fly Rig Guitar Multi-effects Unit contains all the necessary acoustic instrument processing and is easily accessible. Tech 21's renowned SansAmp amplifier emulator fills out the center section of the Acoustic Fly Rig, sandwiched between the EFX section on the left -- with delay/chorus/reverb/XLR/headphones controls -- and the Comp section on the right with its controls. It is lightweight at 21 oz and has a sturdy aluminum chassis with pro-grade footswitches.
Leave the Amp Home
The Acoustic Fly Rig's all-analog focal point is Tech 21's venerable SansAmp amp emulator. The emulator was created by Andrew Barta, a company founder. It allows players to take their amps with them wherever they go and still have the same great tones. The controls include Volume and boost (up to 12dB), lowpass filter, semi-parametric 4-bandEQ, and even a notch filter to limit acoustic feedback. This section also houses the brightly lit built-in tuner. You can also find your Reverb latch with settings from large hall to small room.
The Acoustic Fly Rig's right side houses the Comp (compression) section. This section features all-analog FET technology, which gives you a warmer and more musical tone for your guitar or any other acoustic instrument. This is the type of transparent, effective compression that Guitars-USA guitarists have been searching for for years!
The EFX section is located on the opposite end of the unit, just a few inches from the unit. You can choose between warm-sounding, analog delay, or pitch-shift-based chorus parameter options by pressing the DLA/CH button. These parameters are then controlled using the Tap/Tuner switch. This switch is also used to activate the tuner, tap out delay times and mute the signal path. This unit is small and portable and offers tons of creative control. The Acoustic Fly Rig is not small, but it is durable. The rugged housing is made of metal and can withstand the elements for years of reliable performance.
Latches and Chassis Designed for Road Use.
Tech 21 Acoustic Flyrig doesn't use any footswitches. Andrew and his team used silent switching, custom actuators that will not let you down anywhere on tour. The entire unit is housed in a sturdy, tough metal chassis, which can be carried in almost any backpack. It also includes metal jacks for reliable service and footswitches to ensure long-lasting use. Tech 21 also includes the necessary 9-volt power supply.
